Exploring Nerikomi

This project delves into the Nerikomi technique, which I learned during a class with Milena at Ceramic Kingdom. By layering colored clays, I’ve explored the technique’s versatility in creating functional and artistic objects.

One highlight of the series is a Bagkhamon-inspired game, merging the playfulness of design with the intricate patterns of Nerikomi. Another piece, a surrealism-inspired vase, balances artistic expression and practical use. This collection showcases the diverse possibilities of the technique, emphasizing its ability to enhance natural clay colors without the need for engobes or colored glazes.
